چکیده
Methods CRS was diagnosed based on symptoms, nasal endoscopy and CT scan. Sinonasal mucosa (uncinate process) or middle meatal polyp tissue were obtained from 31 untreated CRS patients (18 CRSwNP and 13 CRSsNP) and analyzed histopathologicaly and by flow cytometry. Patients were subsequently treated medically and if unresponsive surgically. The average follow up duration was 15,8 ± 4,6 months after tissue sampling. Patients with persistent symptoms on VAS ≥5 despite treatment represented the uncontrolled CRS group.

Comparison of Expression of Cytokeratin 7 on Epithelium of Nasal Polyps and Mucosa of Chronic Rhinosinusitis
Background and Objective: Nasal polyp is the most common benign mass of the nasal cavity and it is originated from nasal cavity or sinuses. Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filament proteins that provide mechanical support in epithelial cells. The purpose of this study was to compare the expression of cytokeratin 7 in epithelium of nasal polyps and nasal mucosa in chronic rhinosinusitis. Mate...
متن کاملT-cell phenotypes in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps in Japanese patients
BACKGROUND Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps is characterized by local inflammation and is categorized into two subtypes in Japan: eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis, and non-eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis. The objective of this study was to investigate the expression of key transcription factors for Treg and Th1/Th2/Th17 cells, in relation to the mRNA expression of representative ...
متن کاملSymptoms of chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyps
Background According to EPOS, chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyps diagnoses are defined by clinical criteria, supported with endoscopy. We want to know if it is possible to make an accurate distinction between patients with and without nasal polyps based on a limited number of clinical criteria, collected by health-related quality of life questionnaires. A validated instrument ...
متن کاملMixed T Helper Cell Signatures In Chronic Rhinosinusitis with and without Polyps
UNLABELLED In chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) different phenotypes have been reported based on cytokine profile and inflammatory cell patterns. The aim of this study was to characterize the intracytoplasmatic cytokines of T cells infiltrating the inflamed sinonasal mucosa. METHODS Infiltrated T cells and tissue homogenates from sinonasal mucosal samples of 7 healthy subjects, 9 patients with CRS...
متن کاملCharacterization of T-cell subpopulations in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis
BACKGROUND There is an ongoing discussion concerning the potential origins of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP). OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to quantify subpopulations of T cells in peripheral blood and nasal polyps in CRSwNP to examine their influence on the etiology of this disease. METHODS Tissue and blood samples were collected from 11 patients who underwent n...
